My heart aches for you and your family. I cannot even imagine the sorrow you are going through at this time. It is glaringly apparent to me that PTSD is to blame for this and not Nick, and yet why is he sitting in jail instead of getting the help he needs. This has got to change. I know it is not of comfort right now, but maybe a greater good will come of this. I will be telling everyone I can about this horrible injustice and getting as many as I can to donate. My thoughts are with you.

First off I want to thank you Nick Horner for your service to our country, you are in my heart forever. I know that the military covers up things like PTSD to keep from having to compensate our soldiers for their duties after being released and also not have to provide them medical care. I believe our president is at fault for this tradgedy, he is our commander in chief and it is HIS responsibility to take care of his troops, he has that power but fails to do anything about it. My 22 year old daughter will be going to Afghanistan Mach 2010 without me, we are both in the same unit but medically now I am nondeployable, I have drilled her and drilled her to be able to cope with what she is about to see by telling her that this is a job, when you come back home leave the job behind. I hope that Nick gets the justice that he so deserves, that being he was not in his right frame of mind when this happened and he should get the medical attention that he needs and deserves. My heart goes out to the victims of this tragedy...but you need to contact your senator and demand that our president do something to help our veterans through this trying time...and if you have NEVER served your country in the military....then who gives you the right to judge what Nick was feeling or even seeing at the time.. My heart goes out to Nick, his wife and their children, GOD bless you all

I am one of many who have been using politics as an excuse to ignore this rapidly growing agony. I pledge no longer to do so. This pain is so much greater than any ideology and deserves to be honored by individuals and by our government. Thank you for your courage in sharing. Know you have changed the world. You are supported and you are loved.

Dear Windy and Nick, My thoughts and prayers go out to to you both. My father was a Marine durning Vietnam and suffered from PTSD when I was a kid. I remember one 4th of July my dad completely freaked out during the fireworks and thought he was back in the war. After he snapped out of it he had no recollection of what had happened and my mom and us kids were terrified. Seeing this first hand, I know what the effects of PTSD can do to a person. The military needs to help our men and women who serve in Iraq and Afghanistan adjust to coming home after seeing the terrible things that happen over there. I just want you both to know that you have my love and support during this difficult time. God Bless you both!

I just grieve for you and your family for what has happened. It disgusts me when I think about all the ads to coax people into "serving" our country, making it seem almost glamorous. What they never put into the ads are the risks involved and the aftermath of war. Our soldiers should be treated with respect and honor when they return. After what they have been through our government should bend over backward and aid them. They may have come back "alive" but a part of them was killed by their experiences in combat. Treatment should not only be limited to the returning soldiers, but to the extended family as well. It saddens me to see that our soldiers, our war heroes, the ones who protect us and other nations as well are all too often..discarded after they have been "used". My heart goes out to you and my prayers will be for you. Thank you and your family for your willingness to have sacrificed of yourselves for others. The Lord bless you and guide you through these difficult times.
